Blender Re-Cover®

BLENDER RECOVER® is a leveling and repair system based on a modified polymer mortar, reinforced high strength and single component. This Overlay can repair and coat, it has been specifically formulated to be used as an Ultra-thin Stamping system on horizontal concrete surfaces that require a change in appearance or functionality. BLENDER RECOVER® can be applied in thicknesses from 1/4” in (0.6 mm) and also has an integral polymer adhesion system, which does not require the application of an external adhesion agent in most applications.

When BLENDER RECOVER® is applied properly it produces a strong, durable and well adhered surface with a desired texture and shape. If BLENDER RECOVER® will be used as a Stamping system, you will require the necessary equipment. Ask your Blender Group® Executive for that equipment.

Basic use: The excellent performance of BLENDER RECOVER® makes it ideal for coating areas that require a material of a little thickness and very durable. To use BLENDER RECOVER® as a stamped mortar, it is important to apply BLENDER COLOR RELAEASE® and protect it with any of the Blender line sealers as BLENDER SEAL ACRYL® 30% or BLENDER SEAL ACRYL® WB.

– To achieve coatings with decorative finishes
– Can be applied indoor and outdoor.
– Different colors and textures.
– Excellent adhesion
– Easy to apply.
– Mix with water only.
– Easy to level.
– Long lasting.

Surface Preparation: Prepare the surface according to ICRI technical guide No. 03732.

Water mixture requirements: The mixture should have a plastic consistency.

BLENDER RECOVER® will require 4.0 – 5.0 qt/62 lb bag (4.0 – 5.0 Lt /28 kg bag).

Mixture: Do not mix by hand. For best results, in large area projects use a gas operated mortar mixer or a drill set with your mixer. When small batches of repair material are required, use a blade mixer. First, place the required water into the mixer, then add BLENDER RECOVER® while the mixer is operating. When using a mortar mixer, mix 3 to 5 minutes or until uniform consistency is achieved. When mixing small amounts, mix about 2 minutes or until desired consistency is achieved. Mix only what can be placed in a time of 20 minutes.

Application: To improve the adhesion of the new coating on old concrete, add BLENDER RECOVER® to the surface on which BLENDER RECOVER® will be applied. In prepared areas immediately place from side to side in only one direction.

Avoid leaving air gaps at the bottom to ensure proper adhesion. Level to the desired lift. Minimal finishing work is required. Do not overwork surface.
BLENDER RECOVER® has been designed as a repair material and as a coating that can be placed in a thickness of up to ¼” in (0.6 mm) with the addition of water only. For thicker applications, consult your Blender Group® executive.

Joint Placement: The joints in the concrete base and repairs of BLENDER RECOVER® must match. Joints placed in BLENDER RECOVER® must pass through the entire layer of the product and into the concrete base at the depth and space required by ACI-302.

Weather conditions: When the air temperature is below 55°F (12°C), hot water at a temperature of not more than 100°F (38°C) can be used to heat BLENDER RECOVER®. Do not use accelerators or antifreeze.

Cold Weather: The surface on which BLENDER RECOVER® will be applied must have a temperature of 40°F (5°C) or higher. BLENDER RECOVER® must be protected from freezing during the first 3 days after placement.
Hot Weather: The temperature of the surface to which BLENDER RECOVER® will be applied should not be greater than 105°F (40°C). Soak the concrete with water in order to lower surface temperature and prevent which BLENDER RECOVER® instant setting. When the air temperature is above 80°F (25°C), ice water can be used to cool BLENDER RECOVER®.

Curing: Under most conditions, BLENDER RECOVER® is a self-covering. Occasionally it may be necessary to cover with plastic to protect it from the stress of premature loss of moisture caused by wind, heat or sun.

• The surface on which BLENDER RECOVER® will be applied must be kind of rough.
• Pre-wet all surfaces with water for a minimum of 2 hours. One hour prior to placement, the surface must be saturated and moist without present waterlogging (saturated-dry surface, SSD).
• BLENDER RECOVER® should not be placed on surfaces that have curative compounds, sealants, paints or other coatings.
• Follow recommended ACI practices.
• Perform surface preparation in accordance with technical guide No. 03732.
• Do not place this product on painted or sealed surfaces.
• Do not add any kind of additives or accelerators.
• The recommended maximum thickness is 1 in (25 mm) per application. If larger thicknesses are required, it is important to test the product on site and review the results obtained.

BLENDER RECOVER® contains Portland cement and silica sand. The blend of fresh cement is highly alkaline and can cause itching or tenderness in the skin. Avoid inhalation of dust as much as possible. Use skin and eye protection. The use of respiratory protection and ventilation with masks is recommended.

Please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use.

BLENDER RECOVER® should be kept in a dry place to prevent water contamination. It has a storage life of one year when it is in the original factory bag, hermetically sealed and in proper storage conditions.
